Time to upgrade my PS3 firmware
23/02/2013
I’ve been using CFW3.55 Hermes since I picked up my PS3, a couple of years back.
Thinking it’s time to finally upgarde to Rogero CFW4.30 & see what the PS3 online gaming experience is like… or more so I can add patches to titles.
As always bricking my PS3 is a danger, although I’ve never had issues on any device in the past when upgrading firmware, touch wood.
So according to this guide
2- Always make a NOR/Nand dump using multiMAN before installing any CFW to have a recovery backup in case of any bricks.
Having a valid NOR/Nand dump is an essential step before upgrading, because you will always have a chance to recover when you have a valid dump.
** A Hardware Flasher alone without a valid dump may not fix your bricked PS3 **
& a quick google search later I find the instructions of what I ned to do there: link
To dump NAND/NOR: mmOS->Select any file->Open in HEX viewer->[SELECT]->[START]->DUMP LV2(NO)->DUMP LV1(NO)->DUMP FLASH(YES)
Heaps more info here
So my backups have been made & Rogero 4.30 coming down… I’m getting nervous 🙂

Download the Rogero CFW 4.30, put the PUP on your USB in “
