I love smileys and emoticons, feel they go beyond the traditional puntuation, and help express the tone, scinerity, and sarcasm of the words, so they can be read as intended. There’s been a long history of some bots trying to access this blog by trying to access the root & admin accounts & guessing the password, not sure why? This has caused frequent lock outs & even messing up the back end database, preventing the site from loading. I never much recognise the improvements that are rolled out with WordPress releases, but this one it truly useful; plugins now have the option to auto update 🙂 This closes a potential security hole, although guess there’s also the chance that any updates could break a site :p Good news on the day NZ enters lockdown again, let’s see how long this lasts this time!

I received heads up this morning from a friendly Twitter user (@adrianhungate) that my site was down and they were generously offering help to restore. No luck gaining access the site for a couple of days, no biggy, an email exchange later & my ip is apparently added to the firewall exclusion & I’m in… I thought the issue was too much space been taken up on server, as I’ve revived warnings & had just backed up files to server.
