Prevent WordPress Hacking

There’s been a long history of some bots trying to access this blog by trying to access the root & admin accounts & guessing the password, not sure why?
This has caused frequent lock outs & even messing up the back end database, preventing the site from loading.
It’s not been a real big issue as I’ve simply restored the backup, simples 🙂

The last solution that I’ve applied seems to have remedied the hacker issue though… for now.

& how did you do this, I hear you ask!

A simple solution via a WordPress plugin enabling me to change the login URL to a secret secure string!
This has stopped the password hacks happening, although I have faith that they were never going to find the 100 numchars needed, and no more restores required; wish I tried this option sooner 🙂
