Mame OS Ubuntu
14/07/2013
I was looking to pick up an arcade cabinet from the Kiwi equivalent of Ebay, Trade ME
There are some great deals available, but rather than spend the best part of a grand, I thought I would see what I could put together within Ubuntu. I know that the re-make of the cabinets run Mame games, I’m not stranger to the emulator, I even run it on my PS3, so thought I’d give it a go.
This detailed guide is only composed of a couple of steps
How to install Mame multiple arcade
Next I’d love to try and build something like this from AngryMods
Off to find some ROMS:)
Update:
I then needed to set up my xbox fight stick.
Easy as with the guide from Ask Ubuntu
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:grumbel/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xboxdrv
Although not quite so easy… but it wouldn’t be fun or Linux if it worked first time eh? 😉
I couldn’t get the make to run correctly from this guide

Will take a look at this one tomorrow:
