Yeah ok, I’ve been wasting time this weekend, waiting for what… guess 🙂 One retro title that has kept me occupied is Chopperlifter HD on xbox live. I love the simplicity, nice smooth graphics, controls that react. Kinda reminds me of Trials HD (evolution). Certainly recommend picking it up, it’s an entertaining challenge, and the levels are not too time demanding [Rating: 3] Also been playing Diablo iii on the…

After the last generation launch I considered this same thought, and with the near launch of GTAV I think it’s cemented. Studios work out the best capabilities of the hardware, and tweak it with each patch and launch. So here in the pre-shadow of the release of the ‘4th gen’ consoles, we have the pinnacle of development with the current hardware. The XBOX One and PS4 may offer more polished…

Rockstar spent 100 days on “research trips” to LA: “Out and about, all night long with weird people, strange cops showing us around, a lot of first-hand research. We spoke to FBI agents that have been undercover, experts in the Mafia, street gangsters who know the slang – we even went to see a proper prison. These poor buggers in the middle of the salt flat desert, miles away. It…

I’ve been having issues with the self signed certificate for the site, mainly to do with the landing page I’ve been playing with. So have had to remove HTTPS access… for now 🙁 But it’s all just a journey, with no destination in mind, and the views are cool along the way 😉

How to remain secure against NSA surveillance An excellent article by the king of cryptography, Bruce Schneier, in The Guardian There is some very interesting information on his web site Here’re his 5 pieces of advice + the end of the article 1) Hide in the network. Implement hidden services. Use Tor to anonymize yourself. Yes, the NSA targets Tor users, but it’s work for them. The less obvious you…

I’ve been a Sony fanboy for quite some time, not about their games machines specifically, but their stylish hardware… I even once considered purchasing a set of overpriced Sony wine glasses, and one day my wife will give in and allow me to buy an Aibo 🙂 So today I was stoked to find my missing NWA-1000 data cables. What I never liked about Sony’s equivalent to the iPod was…

First time I’ve watched Escape from New York in years. It stands the test of time as well as Mad Max. Maybe a quality of films set in tomorrows future. Amazed to see the inspirations for Neuromancer, Splinter Cell, and the stage show is so Metro 🙂 I hope this is shown every bank holiday so kids can appreciate it!

Every 6 months or so I decide I am going to make a robot, my darling wife soon dissuades me that it would be a bad idea. While researching a simple build this time around at Let’s Make Robot’s, I came across this inspiring project: Scout Transatlantic These guys have launched their solar powered vessel, which is currently 8 days into its automated, solar powered, journey across the Atlantic! Certainly…

I didn’t really get into Saints Row 3, although I enjoyed the previous 2 instalments… it came across as a little forced. And for this reason I hadn’t been following https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saints_Row_IV prior to release, as I always consider it just another sandpit city gangsta title, to fill the gap between GTA. Nevertheless, I’m having fun 🙂 The superpowers are a nice touch, as are the comic book style aliens. The…

I’ve been reading Pratchett novels for over 25 years, I associate so many events in my life with which of his novels I was reading at the time. My wife still treats me each Christmas to his new tome, each exciting and entertaining me as much as the last. This lecture I found very grounding, after my Grandfather shed his mortal coil last year, I understand and agree with where…

I’m only on my second stage, but am enjoying been back with Sam, and the challenge. Sam is a deadly skilled foe, but he is still vulnerable, and not too overpowered. As ever the shadows are his main asset, and the stealth assassin hits are very satisfying. There is certainly a depth to the game, where the style and kit can be heavily modded. The Echelon 4 base is novel,…

I’ve been a long time idle with web design, opting for the easy option of a WordPress theme throughout the lifespan of this site. After coming across Mary Lou‘s work from a search string, I’m to try and work through one of her demo’s and implement it here 🙂 Making Fullscreen Gallery Thumbnail Flip my first option, with a geek slant. OK, landing page complete, not as seamless as I…

Cyanogenmod – Make Mako your own! destructions for installing Cyanogenmod onto the Nexus4 Cyanogenmod was my preferred ROM for my Nexus 1, after it was no longer supported for updates. Now I’m considering switching back to it, on my N4, for different reasons… the main one to break away from Google’s tracking. The down side is that I’m hooked on Google Apps 🙁 So here’s a list of the benefits…

Great show, although think mark’s finding his format. Then at 12 minutes comes the precursor to Ali G, with no other than the much loved George Galloway, who would have thought that he’d still be in politics? I’m not a happy buuny!

Back in ’99 Mark Thomas aired this fantastic episode showing how the US were listening (project Echelon) to the UK and Europe ~2,000 employees US base, Menwith Hill, in North Yorkshire, listening to 100k phone lines at one time! 14 years later we have a measure on that everything digital is tracked… would I have changed my web behaviour back them, if I know what I know now? Nah! So…

http://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/1kxsd1/it_appears_that_the_uk_government_isintentionally/ Surprised at the independent for publishing leaked documents! The Guardian has always been my main news source, reading the Independent usually on a weekend after I’ve already made my way through the Guardian… think this news will keep me away, contemplating removing the rss feed from the site

After completing Far Cry 3 I’ve delved into my back catalogue (waiting for Splinter Cell this weekend, and ultimately GTA V). I’ve picked up Darkness 2 on the PS3, a wonderful cell shaded gem I got into on release… not sure what dragged me away the first time, without looking back in the blog history. I’m enjoying the plot, continued from the original Love how super powered the character feels,…
