need for speed

Over the years I’ve been keeping these notes of what I’m playing… or sometimes playing with, the site has been hosted in a couple of different hosts.

One went out of business; well the owner stopped communicating even though he’s took payment, so shifted my digital assets to another host.

They were great over the years, thanks to the support team for answering my daft questions, and keeping the site alive.

Now I’m afraid it’s time to part with them, due only to one factor: speed 🙁

They’re awesome, service great, local company, but their speed sucks. I’m intentionally not naming them as no hard feelings, I just need more speed.

So I’ve migrated my blog to Digital Ocean a host that offers me a quicker, faster, harder, stronger home… did I mention the free SSL certificate with them via EFF’s Let’s Encrypt project, and an easy to setup firewall 🙂

Oh, and heaps more space, I can actually use the VPS service to backup files 🙂

I’ve lost a few plugins on the way, as well as my landing page. I’ve also picked up a new theme by spiracle themes that looks great and resizes well.

So hopefully I’ll now start posting more, I’ll see if I can link the account to WordPress to make it easier; but as always this is here for my entertainment first, bonus if anyone else reads anything here and finds it of interest or use 🙂
