Turning Japanese
02/11/2014
After a day of racing cars around virtual tracks on the xbox I needed something a little different, so today I have the pleasure of playing 2 diverse Japanese titles:
Natural Doctrine
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn
I’ve heard nothing of either, so looking forward to hopefully a pleasant surprise.
Natural Doctrine
- cheesy lines galore, with disjointed conversations, and not a clue what the plot may be
- with usual JPRG character formats… Geoff ffs!
- simple PS2 graphics so far
- traditional JRPG menus
- and the screen doesn’t fit on my TV
- it all seems to be about the novel linking battle style
- the controls
suckarn’t intuitive
Let’s see if the first few hours justify playing more, but I’ve always been a sucker for JRPG’s 🙂
The game seems to use few resources, like it could be easily ported to a PSP?
The battles are a little too same-same for me at the minute, think the format would suit a travel game better; where I had more time, and didn’t really need to concentrate.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn
IGN paints a decent picture of what to expect.
I haven’t got a clue what is happening, but it’s great 😀
The spoken dialogue is in Japanese, with English subtitles, I’m not sure where I’m meant to be going within levels, but it’s eye watering eye candy.
The combat system seems straight forward; although I’m not sure what to do with upgrades just yet.
