Finally I have the Piratebox v1.0 working on the TP-Link 3020 ๐ I had tried redownloading the install_piratebox.zip file, and the 3020 firmware, and running through the step by step instructions with no luck ๐ I sat like a doting puppy watching the flashing green lights, leaving the box for some times up to 45 mins! Once I dug into the log file though, I could see where the install…

I find it hard to believe that I have never tried this before! I find enterring lengthy text messages via joystick into XBOX LIve timely. Today I plugged in a keyboard I have been using with a Raspberry Pi into the XBOX to see if it would work. Wonders of technology, keyboard typing without the need for drivers! Not sure of how long the nolvelty will last before I revert…

I recieved a Sanwa octaganol plate for my my Madcatz Fightstick Pro today, from an Ebay purchase. Not sure of how it will change my Street Fighter game play, but I am keen to give it a try ๐ One issue, I can’t get the back plate off of the joystick to fit it ๐

I can’t believe it’s a year from when I first started playing with Amazon’s free hosting deal. It probably makes sense to use the service for a blog like this, think it would probably be cheaper… but what I’m paying for is the support when it all goes Pete Tong What really impressed me was how easy it is to cancel a setup, heaps easier than setting one up! Simply…

For the first time on the Nexus 4, I’ve installed a Custom ROM, and to date this was my largest fail yet. I didn’t brick the device, although the password for the encryption I’d set up was continually rejected ๐ I had to wipe the device completely, to remove drive encryption, and start Cyanogen 10.2.1, the last stable build based on Android 4.3.1, which is apparently more secure than later…

I paid for the Street Fighter Ultra costumes. I feel like I validated the pay to play Capcom business model, but I don’t regret it for a minute:

Shit, I’ve just purchased the last Ultra iteration… but I’m still excited by the prospect of Street Fighter V coming to PS4 and Xbone ๐ Excerpt from EventHubs, info courtesy of sponichi Updated: Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono addressed Sports Nippon’s report today and said that the “pay to win model is not accurate and isn’t something we’re planning for. “Sorry for the confusion! It’s quite easy to make a Raspberry Pi a Tor Proxy, just order the parts from AdaFruit, and work through their easy to follow guide. Or if you’re Gen Y, there’s a YouTube video ๐ But this isn’t why I’ve acquired a Raspberry Pi! I access Tor via a Arch Linux VirtualBox machine, booting a live version of Tails on my PC, and Orbot on my Android devices. What I…
4.4.3 arrived earlier this month for my Nexus 4, I’ve missed root access, but only just got around to implementing it today. This time I didn’t want to go the windows way, so I used 3 great resources: bernaerts.dyndns.org chainfire.eu Team Win Resources I’m linking this as a reference, as I’m going to have to repeat this exercise in the near future due to the imminent roll out of 4.4.4:…
As a break for my aged fingers from Street Fighter, today I installed 0 AD, described as A free, open-source game of ancient warfare, on Ubuntu. I’ve been a fan of Civilization, in each incarnation, so I’m quite excited to try this high quality open-source title. Feature of the 0 AD, from the site: 0 A.D. (pronounced “zero ey-dee”) is a free real-time strategy (RTS) game of ancient warfare. Lead…
I’ve been playing some version of SFIV for a while now, but today the question hit me: Whats the difference between Battle Points & Player Points? Here’s a succinct answer from a google search: PP stands for Player Points. BP stands for Battle Points. PP is essentially your overall skill as measured by the game and your wins and losses, regardless of what character you’re using. BP measures your skill…

As a public service announcement, here’s a reminder that Street Fighter iv is now free on Xbox live, for gold members, until the end of the month! Kotaku Australia: How You’ll Play Far Cry 4 With Friends Who Don’t Own It. This is interesting, I remember some PSP games having this function nearly 10 years ago.
