What is a stylophone? A stylophone is a miniature stylus-operated analog synthesizer invented in 1967 by British electronics engineer and musician Brian Jarvis. The stylophone has a metal keyboard played by touching it with a stylus—each note is connected to a capacitor within the circuit, which is discharged by the stylus’ conductivity, producing a note.
