- by /u/AffectionatePie1042I've been in Australia for a while now, and something I've noticed is how normal it seems to be for people to grab a coffee alone, eat lunch by themselves or head to the beach without a group. Back home, people would often assume you were waiting for someone. Here it barely gets a second look. Is this something Australians grow up with, or have I just noticed something that isn't actually unusual? submitted by /u/AffectionatePie1042 to r/AskAnAustralian [link] [comments]

- by /u/DonkChonk4A prime corner block in Brisbane's Albion would be transformed into 166 homes in a 28-storey tower, with design inspiration from the neighbouring Breakfast Creek Hotel, a new development application reveals. Frank Developments have submitted plans for 60 Kingsford Smith Drive to Brisbane City Council for the project, dubbed Avela, that'd also include a food and drink outlet, shop and indoor and sport recreation space. The proposal includes a mix of 2 & 3 bedroom apartments with terraces, one 4 bedroom penthouse and 252 car parks. A level-one wellness floor would include a pickleball court, therapy rooms, hot and cold […]

- by /u/wanitiHi Reddit, My boyfriend and I have been together for almost four years. I purchased my home before he moved in, and he began living with me during our second year together. The mortgage is solely in my name, and I am fully responsible for the mortgage, strata fees, and council rates. There is currently around $300,000 remaining on the mortgage. All utility accounts are also under my name. I pay the bills when they are due and then let him know his share. We split the utility costs equally, including water, electricity, and internet, and he transfers his portion […]

- by /u/dj-house_moneyHe has never won a premiership, his only success was blatantly copying Paul Roos gamestyle, he is a dick to anyone who dares question him or who he thinks is beneath him, and he is pretty clearly only nice to people he thinks can help him. He's obviously a prick, and he's not actually that good a coach (just check his last few years) Can anyone let me in on the Lyon cult? Edit – Stop acting like he's won a grand final, "he was one bounce away" IT BOUNCED THE OTHER WAY, HE HAS NOT WON A GRAND FINAL. […]

- by /u/EshayslapperAs the title says I haven't done my tax in a long time, been working full-time for the last 7 years and have 7 years worth of tax ready to be processed on the my gov app but have a few years previous to that where I was either working cash in hand or only intermittently working. How screwed am I? How much will this cost me at a tax agent? How far back will I need to go to get everything up to date? Cheers Edit** Thank you all (or most) for your advice, booked in to the tax […]
- by /u/LatatteDriving home from the country I was overtaken by a car that indicated right-left-right once each after over taking me. Later on the same drive I saw a semi-trailer do it after the semi in front of them moved aside to let them pass. Is this a new thank you signal or is it something else? submitted by /u/Latatte to r/AskAnAustralian [link] [comments]

- by /u/EEZAK04Films or shows with seemingly happy endings that take on completely different meanings if you pay attention to stuff going in the background in the final scene. THE SOPRANOS: The series ends seemingly at random in the middle of a scene where Tony is eating food in a diner. If you pay attention you’ll notice a person going into the bathroom earlier in the scene, with the implication being they were retrieving a gun and the “cut to black” is Tony being shot and killed (foreshadowed by multiple scenes earlier in the series) IT FOLLOWS: The film ends with the […]
