What key words serached for in google correlate over time? Nice question, & here’s the tool to help you find an answer, google trends, correlate Limited to NZ, here’s the correlation for Call Of Duty searches… student hardship the 6th match, causation link? And come on, people must search for ‘one cup‘ for another reason, who are you dirty people ๐
Have I got some cool shit to show. I took the fusion table I’d made with the list of xbox titles, and I’ve cut the data by different descriptions on a couple of network charts. Did I mention the tables are interactive? Have a play, see what you think xbox titles by developer & genre Note to self: 10/09/16 – Rebuild this for PS4 ๐
Sad, but here I am on a Saturday playing with more fusion graphs ๐ & here’s today’s data source, 149 megs from NZ Stats 2006 census data Here’s my first NZ heat map, showing 2006 population by region. Frustrating that I couldn’t get the map to geocode Hawke’s Bayย on a NZ map. Switch to a World map, Hawke’s Bay shows fine, but Canterbury is moved to England, & Marlborough to…
You may add the Google Analytics tracking code to you site either manually or with a plugin. There are many plugins that can help you do this, but I have selected a very simple one, that get the job done simple and sweet. I’ve been playing with Googles Fusion Tables, specifically the map function, & for a free service it’s quite impressive. Data can be uploaded in several ways, via traditional file types (txt, csv, xls), linked to from Google Docs, or simply pasted into a fusion table. Here’re a couple of examples that I’ve put together: a map of crop circles in the UK from 2009 data courtesy of The Guardian, data…

I’m going through a personal Beatles revival, although when I say that, I’ve never been a fan, so to speak. Being part of Thatcher’s yoof The Beatles were always a background noise; we sang their songs at school, everyones Mum had had a crush on one of them a decade or so ago, Paul was still rocking, I can’t really remember John being shot, but there wasn’t 24 hr news…

Hard Boiled is one of my all time favourites, Woo, Wong & Chow Yun-Fat together created a masterpiece. Stranglehold was fun, but Sleeping Dogs looks to be more undercover cop, Hong Kong, duel 9mm’s than its inspiration. An undercover cop, too deep in with the triad, Hong Kong based, open World title, was always going to be compared to Woo, so this post is probably already a cliche, but I…

This has to be one of the most interesting plugins for a web browser I’ve seen in a long time… perhaps since the advent of Flash! This fantastic plugin takes an HTML table, allows you to analyse the data, & save the results in an xls format. Mind blown! Excel is my first weapon of choice at work; I may need to source data via SQL, but reporting happens &…
