Linux Drums

09/06/2013

A couple or years ago I set my xbox Rock Band drums up via (Linux) Ubuntu, to play different drum samples. Many Linux installations have occurred since now and then, so that work was lost. Now I’m going to try and set it up again, but this time I have bigger ideas, not just my drums but I want to look into utilising my 8 button street fighter stick 🙂…

I haven’t entertained the idea of leaving a google OS on my Nexus 4 until hearing about the tracking information, as this would lose functionality compared with 4.2.2…. until now 🙂 Cyanogenmod has been my OS of choice, after acquiring my Nexus1. So I’m quite looking forward to the task of installing the latest version, and finding life beyond google. Not sure of how I feel about ditching Ingress though,…

Friends B’day tomorrow, never know what to get her. So what could cheer her up more than a rendition of Happy Birthday, played on the Stylophone? Flowers and chocolates maybe, but we can pick them up en route. I’m trying a different way to annotate the half notes, this way makes it easy for me to read. Happy Birthday 3-3-4-3-6-5 3-3-4-3-7-6 3-3-10-8-6-5-4 85-85-8-6-7-6 The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme) 7-7-7…

[Rating: 4] I put in a few hours of driving last week on Grid2, have elevated through the rankings, and picked up a couple of new sweet looking cars. After booting, and seeing the Activision logo memories came flooding back… of Grid, before it was Grid, the TOCA days! TOCA (Touring Car Championship) goes back to the late 90’s, and was the premier driving / racing game on the Playstation……

[Rating:4] It’s been wonderful playing DoA5 and Grid2 this week, like getting reacquainted with old friends 🙂 The DoA play style has showed me a new way, beyond the 3 kick & punch strengths of Street Fighter and the left and right Tekken way. Having the punch, kick and hold, throw transforms the game. I understand characters have parries in other games, Gouken’s is one of my favourite finishing moves,…

https://medium.com/state-of-play/caca1560b351 Here is a great article, giving a top line summary of the extent of the surveillance of american citizens. Everyone has heard the patriot act after 9 11, and everyone knew what the government had planned, we all just went into the denial. We find our lives away to google, facebook, and apple, not caring about the personal information we published in the cloud. Now shock horror that this…

I use nom, and nom nom nom liberally, always associated with tasty food. This week however I found out that in Thai it translates to both Milk and breasts. I’m kinda amused that I’ve been saying tits tits tits while shoving yummy food into my mouth at work 🙂 NOM’s also an acronym for no offence meant, that makes the use of the term even more novel!

So to ease the disappointment of lasts weeks games, I have chosen 2 to play that should mean I put in a few more gaming hours. Grid 2 Metacritic 82% I enjoyed the original on the xbox, remember being impressed with the rewind option. This shold make up for the Fast & the Furious’s attempt at a driving game Dead or Alive 5 Metacritic 74% As a long time fan…

DoS attack fail

01/06/2013

Thursday morning some Muppet carried out a DoS attack on this sites server! Miles away from causing damage, I slept through it, but you really wonder what motivates these script kiddies?
