Auto Chess Dota Underlords

Today I discovered a new genre of game… and I’m hooked.
DOTA Underlords
DOTA Underlords is now available to play for free on Steam as Early Access; and from what I understand there will be no charge going forward, only for aesthetic additions.

Dota Underlords is a new stand-alone game that pits you against seven opponents in a battle of wits that will have you building, combining, and leveling-up a crew in a battle of dominance for the city of White Spire. In this game, victory is determined not by twitch reflexes, but by superior tactics.

The origins of Dota Underlords is from Dota Auto Chess, an eight-player custom game. This was developed by Drodo Studio at the beginning of 2019 and became one of the fastest growing custom games at that time.

I’m currently reading all I can, after playing through a single player game, and my first multiplayer session on my phone (finishing 4th from last!)

The mobile version is slick and well polished, with great net code, and what’s more awesome is that it’s cross platform; I might be sat on my phone watching the sun rise over the Pacific, while other players are logged in on Windows, Linux, or Apple phones… this is the future, and kudos to Steam for bringing these platforms together.

I’m off to play my first Linux game, let’s see if I can beat 4th from last 🙂
